Junior varsity cagers split pair of games

The Dowagiac junior varsity basketball team split a pair of Wolverine Conference games this past weekend.
The Chieftains defeated Plainwell on Friday night 48-42 in overtime. On Saturday, visiting South Haven defeated the Chieftains, 43-39.

Dowagiac won its fourth game of the season on Friday night as it outlasted the Trojans in overtime.
Zach Russom led Dowagiac with 16 points, while Dre Kiser added 13 points.
Greg Nelson chipped in with seven points.
Dowagiac is now 4-8 on the season.

Visiting South Haven outscored Dowagiac 14-12 in the final quarter to hold on for the victory Saturday night.
Russom paced Dowagiac, now 4-9 on the season, with 14 points.
Michael Filley added 10 points, while Shaun Bruens finished with seven points.
Dowagiac is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Vicksburg. Tip-off is set for approximately 5:45 p.m.
