NILES – As a result of an ongoing investigation into illegal narcotic sales in the Niles area, officers from the Niles City Police Department arrested a suspect and served a search warrant late yesterday on a home located in the 1400 block of Merrifield Avenue in the City of Niles.
This arrest and search resulted in the seizure of 24 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $24,000. Two vehicles were seized for civil forfeiture.
The name of the suspect is being held pending his arraignment today at the Niles Trail Court. The Niles Police Department has requested charges for maintaining a drug house, violation of the drug free school zone and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
