Cory Coquillard prepares for second season with Rockhurst

NILES – Former Niles High School athlete Cory Coquillard begins his sophomore season at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO.
Rockhurst University opens its 2007 college baseball season Feb. 2 in the Metrodome (Minneapolis, MN) versus Lincoln Universit for a Great Lakes Valley Conference league game.
Rockhurst University finished the 2006 season 36-22. Coquillard handled the majority of the catching duties for Rockhurst and played in 43 of 58 games.
Rockhurst earned a bid to the 2006 GLVC tourney and also earned a NCAA II bid and trip to NCAA II Regional.
Coquillard spent the 2006 summer as C/DH for the Springfield (IL) Rifles of the Central Illinois Collegiate League (wood bat).
Pre-Season polls have the 2007 Rockhurst Hawks ranked second within the GLVC and 34th nationally. Three other GLVC schools (Northern Kentucky, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, and Quincy University) are also ranked in the nations pre-season top 40.
Coquillard graduated from Niles in 2005 after four years as a varsity C/1B for coach Mike Vota.
