Brandywine wrestlers third at Cockrell Memorial

NILES – The Brandywine varsity wrestling team took third place at the Cockrell Memorial Tournament Saturday.
The Bobcats finished with a score of 175.5. Battle Creek Harper Creek claimed the title with a score of 204.5, while Union City took second with a 196.5.
Ida finished fourth with a score of 110, Quincy was fifth with 75.5, Gobles placed sixth with a 75 and Lawrence rounded out the seven teams with a 36.
First place finishers for Brandywine were Bryon Fisher at 103 pounds, Warren Watson at 135, Chase Molica at 140 and Joel Perry at 160.
Placing second was Justin Price at 152, Jeremy Hechtl at 215 and Danny Eaglebarger at 285.
Third place went to Justin Batman at 103, while fourth place went to Pat Van Laere at 125 and Brad Ritchey at 171.
The Bobcats will hit the mats again on Wednesday when they travel to Berrien Springs for a meet with the Shamrocks, Cassopolis and Buchanan.
