Busy week for Chieftain grapplers

The Dowagiac varsity wrestling team will wrap up a busy week on Saturday by participating in the 13th annual Coloma Comets Varsity Wrestling Super Dual Tournament.
The Chieftains will wrestle on Thursday in Niles against the Vikings and Benton Harbor.
On Saturday in Coloma, Dowagiac and the host Comets will be joined by Hamilton, Plainwell, Paw Paw, St. Joseph, Bangor, Parchment, Flint Central and Lake Odessa.
Wrestling in this team tournament is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5.
Dowagiac will compete in Pool B with Hamilton, St. Joseph, Paw Paw and Flint Central. Coloma will compete in Pool A with Bangor, Plainwell, Parchment and Lake Odessa.
Dowagiac will wrestle Hamilton in the first round and then face Flint Central in the second round. The Chieftains will wrestle Paw Paw in the third round and have a bye in the fourth round.
Dowagiac will wrap up pool competition against St. Joseph.
In the sixth round, the first place teams from Pool A and Pool B will wrestle for the championship. The second, third, fourth and fifth place teams will square off in the final round as well.
The fifth place teams will wrestle on the first available mat.
