Two seats available on school board May 8

Candidates for the Dowagiac Union Schools Board of Education must file a nominating petition and an affidavit of identity no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16.
A minimum of 40 signatures is required.
A $100 non-refundable fee may be filed in lieu of a petition.
The regular school election will be on Tuesday, May 8.
Two four-year seats, with terms ending June 30, 2011, will be placed on the ballot.
The expiring seats are currently held by President Randy Cuthbert and Vice President Sherry File.
Petitions and affidavit forms can be obtained at the Wolverine administration building at 206 Main St., City Clerk James Snow's office in City Hall or township offices.
All forms must be turned in to the Cass County Clerk's Office in the 1899 courthouse in Cassopolis prior to the deadline date.
