Dowagiac senior Nate Behnke and junior Drew Staley have been named the Daily News Athletes of the Week for Jan. 2-6.
There was no female athlete selected due to the fact that there were no varsity contests last week.
Behnke and Staley were both 4-0 at the Chad Reeves Tournament in Decatur.
The pair helped Dowagiac to a 3-1 record and a second place finish at the tournament.
The Chieftains' lone loss came at the hands of No. 8 ranked (Division 4) Decatur.
Dowagiac will participate in the Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Invitational on Saturday. (see related story this page)

The selections come from nominations from the Dowagiac Union High School coaching staff.
