CASSOPOLIS – Dowagiac businessman Gregory Scott Ferrier, 43, is facing four criminal charges, including two five-year felonies, false pretenses over $1,000.
Ferrier pleaded not guilty Dec. 27 at his arraignment on a larceny in a building charge.
The judge continued his $5,000 cash/surety bond and ordered that he not have any contact with Dr. J.N. Patel, who had been a business partner.
Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz said that alleged incident, a four-year felony, took place on Dec. 11 at 515 Main St. in Dowagiac and involved Ferrier's attempt to obtain business records.
Until last month, Ferrier operated Dowagiac Auto Sales on M-51 South.
Ferrier has also been charged with domestic violence on Nov. 6 in Pokagon Township by Fitz's office.
The 1981 Union High School graduate served on the Dowagiac Board of Education before resigning Oct. 9.
