Vandals ram Bell school building Thursday

NILES – A vehicle drove through the entryway at Bell Alternative Adult Education Center during the early morning hours on Thursday, Dec. 28, according to a press release from the Berrien County Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. Randall Miller of the Niles Township Patrol said Friday the incident took place at approximately 3:40 a.m. Thursday, and the vehicle involved may have been a mid-sized truck or a small SUV.
After the damage was done, the vehicle drove away, leaving the lawn torn up and causing extensive damage to the property, the release added.
The Bell facility also houses the administrative offices for the Brandywine school district.
No arrests have been made at this point. The incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's department. This episode is considered a hit and run and malicious destruction to property the press release said.
