NILES - Though we are still in the midst of winter, the Greater Niles Baseball League has been hard at work, making the necessary preparations for another season of youth baseball at Thomas Memorial Stadium.
In mid-May, 300 plus area youth, ages 13 through 19, will take the diamond to play ball.
The ball games are free to all spectators, yet it takes a considerable amount of money to operate the baseball programs. The league is fortunate that the Niles area businesses have elected to give support over the years. Becuse of this, the residents of Greater Niles can take pride in the quality of the baseball programs that have been available to our youth. This level of quality can only continue with your help.
Grand Slam sponsorships are available for businesses wishing to help. This sponsorship includes a 4' x 16' sign of your design, painted by the company or person of your choice. The cost of the sign and its design is your responsibility. The league has a sign company that they have used in the past. The $1,000 donation per year is for the display of your sign in a prime location, visible from South 11th Street and Silverbrook. If you choose, you may be able to use this as a tax deduction. Please check with your accountant.
If you wanted to renew for 2007, please contact the Greater Niles Baseball League at 684-1223. Deadline for renewal is March 1, 2007.
