The Dowagiac freshmen basketball team picked up its second victory of the season Tuesday night with a 49-35 win over host Gull Lake.
The Chieftains improved to 2-3 on the year as they wrapped up the 2006 portion of their schedule.
The win was Dowagiac's second in its last three games.
Jalen Nicken and Damone Huff led the Chieftains with 14 points apiece.
Dowagiac also got seven points each from Cody Cox and Pierre Reed.
The Chieftains return to action in January when they take on Vicksburg.
The Dowagiac junior varsity basketball team dropped a 48-40 decision to the Blue Devils.
