BLC Lions wind up successful season

BERRIEN SPRINGS – The Berrien County Intermediate School District's Blossomland Learning Center's (BLC) Poly Hockey team recently completed their 2006 season which included a trip to Lansing to compete in the State Special Olympic tournament.
Although the BLC Lions lost 8-1 to the Jenison Wildcats at the State games, they still had a very successful season.
On Nov. 11, the Lions participated in a tournament in Van Buren County where they took first place with a 9 -0 victory over the Van Buren Roadrunners.
Mark Oney and Dacia Henderson each scored four goals and Mitchell Davenport scored a goal.
During their second game of the tournament against the Red Devils (also of Van Buren County), the Lions won 6-2. Dacia Henderson scored five goals and Eric Trosper scored a goal.
On Saturday, Nov. 18, the Lions defeated the Area 15 T-Birds 8-1 to win third place in their final tournament. During the game, Dacia Henderson scored seven goals and Drew Bushouse scored a goal.
