STEVENSVILLE – Host Lakeshore defeated the Dowagiac freshmen and junior varsity basketball teams on Tuesday night.
The freshmen team dropped a 49-42 decision to the Lancers, while the junior varsity was defeated, 43-26.
Freshmen basketball
Damone Huff led Dowagiac (0-1) with 12 points.
The Chieftains also got 11 points from Jalen Nickens and 10 points from Cody Cox.
JV basketball
Mike Filley scored 11 points to pace the Chieftains against the Lancers.
Greg Nelson finished with five points, while Dre Kiser and Zach Russom each had four points.
Dowagiac is back in action on Friday when it travels to Comstock to open up Wolverine Conference play.
The freshmen game is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. with the JV game set for 5:45 p.m.
