New Christmas show debuts Dec. 2

Encore Dance Company unwraps its new Christmas show, "Making Spirits Bright … A Holiday Extravaganza," Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. at Dowagiac Middle School Performing Arts Center, according to Artistic Director Amy Rose.
Guest pianist Jim Pickley will be performing while dancers perform to his live music.
Call 783-0881 for tickets, which are also available from any Encore dancer or at Imperial Furniture or Wood Fire Italian Tratorria.
Group discounts are available.
Each day, two hours before the performance, professional Christmas family photos will be available, whether family groups or individual portraits.
Portraits will be taken by a professional photographer.
Two different Christmas backgrounds will be available, plus characters from the "Toy Shop" number, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Ms. Potato Head, Woodie the "Toy Story" cowboy, Raggedy Ann, G.I. Joe, elves and Buzz Lightyear, are available to appear in the photo.
Cost is $25 per setting of two photos. The photo is provided on a compact disc for you to print in any size or quantity at any photo development store or from your own personal printer.
Each additional setting, with a different background, costs $25.

Encore is also selling personalized Christmas ornaments, poinsettias in several different colors and raffling a Christmas stocking.
