Dowagiac cagers swept by Ring Lardner

The Dowagiac Middle School eighth grade Orange and Black basketball teams were defeated by Niles Ring Lardner on Thursday.
The eighth grade Black team dropped a hard-fought 23-18 decision to the Vikings. The Orange team fell to Niles 36-8.
Austin Adams and Jason Turner both scored four points to lead the Black team. Darius Wilson and Cody Carnell both finished with three points.
Aaron Blaske was the top scorer for the Orange team with four points. Collin Tidey and Ryan McCuddy each scored two points.
Dowagiac is back in action on Monday when it plays host to St. Joe Upton. The first game will tip-off at 4 p.m.
Seventh grade
The DMS seventh grade Orange and Black teams were also defeated by Niles Ring Lardner on Thursday.
The Orange team dropped a 38-23 decision to the Vikings, while the Black team was defeated, 45-17.
Tony Brooks led the Orange team offensively with 10 points.
The Chieftains also got six points from Xavier Stewart and four points from Jeremy Juday.
Paul Hyde finished with three points.
The Black team was led by James Holder's five points.
Anthony Banks finished with four points, while Matt Ernzen, Chris Gantt and Craig Zebell all scored two points.
Dowagiac will travel to St. Joseph on Monday for its next contest against host St. Joe Upton.
The first game tips off at 4 p.m.
