DMS cagers swept by Benton Harbor Tigers

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh and eighth grade basketball teams returned to action on Monday afternoon.
The seventh grade played host to the Benton Harbor Tigers, while the eighth grade traveled to Benton Harbor.
Eighth grade
The eighth grade Black team dropped a 71-16 decision to Benton Harbor, while the Orange team was defeated 61-21.
Troy Butcher led the Black team with four points, while Jason Turner added three points.
For the Orange team, Cody Carlisle scored 12 of the team's 21 points.
Seventh grade
The seventh grade Orange team dropped a 36-15 decision to the Tigers, while the Black team fell to Benton Harbor, 51-24.
Jeremy Juday led Dowagiac's Orange team with eight points.
The Chieftains also got six points out of Paul Hyde and one point from Ryne Willming.
The Black team was led in scoring by Anthony Banks, who netted seven points.
Dowagiac also got five points from Rolandis Russell and four points from Craig Zebell.
Jacob Williams and Matt Ernzen both finished with three points, while Eric Charles finished with two points.
Dowagiac is back in action on Thursday when it faces Niles Ring Lardner. The Orange team will begin play at 4 p.m.
