LANSING – Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land made the following comments Tuesday night regarding election returns which indicated she has been re-elected by Michigan voters to serve a second term:
"The participation in today's election is a remarkable testament to the citizens of Michigan who wanted to make their voices heard on Election Day," Land said.
"The broad coalition of support I have received from the voters across our great state continues to be truly humbling and for that I am thankful. I love this job and believe in public service. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Michigan."
"Our campaign was based on a positive message about continuing to improve customer service and continue to drive Michigan forward," Land continued. "Victory isn't possible without a great team of supporters – and our entire campaign is incredibly grateful for everyone that helped put up yard signs, make phone calls and help spread our message of improved customer service."
Land has proposed an aggressive agenda for a second term including pre-registering 16 year olds to vote, allowing early voting and continuing to improve and expand branch office and online services.
