Voters are no doubt pondering the candidates and issues they will be asked to decide when they go to the polls on Tuesday.
When it comes to the race for our 78th district state representative, the choice is clear and simple: Vote for Niles' Judy Truesdell.
Truesdell, a Democrat, is challenging incumbent Neal Nitz, a Republican, for the 78th district seat in the Michigan legislature.
Judy Truesdell is uniquely qualified to represent us.
She is a successful entrepreneur, has built businesses and provided jobs and knows first-hand the many struggles of doing so in Michigan. She has a plan to nurture the creation of jobs – good jobs – in Michigan.
Truesdell's economic plan would reward those employers who create jobs that pay above industry averages and provide health care benefits. At the same time, Truesdell is a long-time community leader and has volunteered countless hours to a myriad of causes simply because she knows that our community is a better place when we are all involved and work together. She understands how important it is to invest in educating our children, provide training for our workforce, insure health care and public safety for Michigan citizens, who deserve nothing less than the best that leadership like Truesdell's can bring us.
Truesdell would bring interested, energetic and engaged representation for our 78th district. Her challenger has been all but invisible, particularly in southern Berrien and Cass counties – until it was time to run for re-election.
Truesdell's campaign mantra has been, "The status quo is no longer good enough."
It's time for Michigan and the 78th district to progress and prosper.
Judy Truesdell is clearly the best capable of working with other state leaders to make that happen.
