The Edwardsburg varsity basketball team bounced back from a Lakeland Conference loss to River Valley on Thursday night to defeat Sturgis on Friday evening.
The Lady Eddies outscored the Lady Trojans 14-5 in the second and third quarter on their way to a 33-18 non-league win.
The victory improved Edwardsburg's overall record to 11-7.
The Lady Eddies jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter advantage, which they increased to 20-7 by halftime as the outscored Sturgis 8-2 in the quarter.
Edwardsburg continued to pull away in the third and fourth quarters, outscoring Sturgis 19-11.
Stephanie Koontz led all scorers with 13 points. The Lady Eddies also got five points each from Julie Harness and Kristin Toney.
Kristin Higgs and Deborah Falls led the Lady Trojans with six points each.
Edwardsburg is back in action tonight as they host Coloma in a Lakeland Conference match-up.
