For the fourth time in its last five games, the Dowagiac freshmen basketball team was a winner on Tuesday night.
The Chieftains defeated visiting Plainwell 38-29.
Marcie Ennesser led Dowagiac with 13 points. Kalen Nickens added 10 points, while Leana Allen finished with nine points.

Visiting Plainwell held Dowagiac to two points in the first half on its way to a 51-14 victory on Tuesday.
Brittany Gnatz scored 12 of the Chieftains' 14 points. Tori Shank had the other two points for Dowagiac.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday as they face Gull Lake on the road.
The freshmen game begins at 4:15 p.m. with the JV contest slated for 5:45.
