Seventh grade football team posts undefeated season

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade football team wrapped up an undefeated season with a 30-7 victory over host Paw Paw on Wednesday afternoon.
The victory capped a perfect 6-0 season for the Chieftains.
"I am so proud of them," Dowagiac coach Steve Juroff said. "They were a pleasure to coach this year."
Dowagiac had 17 sacks in its season finale.
Singled out for their play against the Redskins were Logan Pellow, Anthony Banks and Tony Brooks.
"Again, this was a team effort and an outstanding job," Juroff said.
Eighth grade
The eighth grade football team lost to host Paw Paw in its season finale, 34-8.
"The boys played hard and never quit and everyone saw ample playing time," Dowagiac coach Chad Perrin said.
Dowagiac finishes the year with a 1-5 record.
Austin Adams led the team in rushing with 90 yards on seven carries, including a 50-yard touchdown run. Zach Hyatt added 37 yards.
Ricky Roach led the defense with seven tackles. Henry Newman had four tackles.
