Seventh grade squad topples Fairplain

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade girls' basketball team posted a 28-17 victory over Benton Harbor Fairplain on Monday afternoon.
The Chieftains' eighth grade squad fell to the Lady Tigers, 54-19.
Jacoya Brookins scored 10 points to lead the Chieftains, who also got six points each from Correshia Rogers and Kelsie Primley.
Shelby Bruens added three points with Meghan Hojara contributing two points and Regina Kennedy one point.
Victoria Robinson led the eighth grade squad with nine points. Krista Green finished with four points.
Also scoring were Ashley Charles, Kaisha Martin and Ashley McElheny.
The Chieftains are back in action on Thursday when they face Lakeshore. The seventh grade will host the Lady Lancers while the eighth grade will travel to Stevensville.
