The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade footbal team defeated visiting Benton Harbor Wednesday afternoon, 29-12.
Rashad Smith rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Hazen McMeekend, Kyle Dufour and Anthony Banks also scored for the Chieftains.
Dowagiac hosts Bangor on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The eighth grade football team dropped an 18-0 decision to visting Benton Harbor.
Steven Baylock was the team's leading rusher. Ricky Roach led the Chieftains defensively.
Dowagiac is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Watervliet. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
