Spee-D-Mart robbed in Jones

CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that deputies responded to an armed robbery call at the Jones Spee-D-Mart on M-60 in Newberg township at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival deputies were advised that two subjects had just robbed them at gunpoint and a witness had seen two subjects leaving the scene on foot northbound.
A Dowagiac police canine unit was working and responded to the scene.
The dog followed a track north on M-40 from the store.
Officers made contact at a residence in the 61000 block of M-40 where the investigation led to the arrest of one 19-year-old male and one juvenile 15-year-old male, both of Jones.
Cass County deputies were also assisted on scene by Michigan State Police White Pigeon post.
None of the victims were injured in the robbery.
All property stolen as well as the weapon allegedly used were recovered.
