The biggest cause of strife for individuals, marriages, and families is finances.
Far too many people feel like their money has control over them, are living from paycheck to paycheck and still have too much month left at the end of the money, and/or carry large credit card balances or use debt consolidation loans.
Financial struggle can tear up a family.
It is the number-one reason for first-time divorces and number two reason for second-time divorces.
First United Methodist Church of Dowagiac wants to help people out of the stress of debt and into financial peace.
They are hosting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, a 13-week seminar on Wednesday evenings beginning Oct. 25.
Ramsey is a personal money management expert, extremely popular radio personality and author of the New York Times best sellers The Total Money Makeover, Financial Peace and More Than Enough.
Ramsey knows what it is like to have it and lose it all.
By age 26 he had accumulated a personal real estate portfolio worth more than $4 million. By age 30 he had declared personal bankruptcy.
Dave rebuilt his financial life and has gone on to teach others the lessons that he learned the hard way.
Everyone can benefit from this program regardless of whether you are 21 or 81, regardless of whether you make $12K or $120K, regardless of whether you are single married, divorced or a struggling single parent.
His Financial Peace University program shows people how to put into practice the proven common-sense principles that will allow them to walk with financial peace.
If you are tired of living paycheck to paycheck, want to become debt-free, and want to experience a financial breakthrough, then this 13-week seminar is for you.
The Ramsey program can cost participants as much as $185.
First United Methodist Church of Dowagiac will offer the seminar and the Financial Peace University membership kit for a much reduced price of $90 per household.
Pre-registration is required so a membership kit is available for each participating household.
You are invited to attend a video orientation at noon on Sunday, Oct. 15, at First United Methodist Church, 326 N. Lowe St., Dowagiac.
