Lady Rangers unbeaten

The Cassopolis varsity basketball team remained in first place in the Lakeland Conference with a 75-65 victory over visiting River Valley on Sept. 28.
The Lady Rangers, now 6-0 in the league, will square off against second place Bridgman, the defending league champions, tonight.
River Valley came looking for the upset on Thursday, grabbing a 15-12 first quarter lead against Cassopolis.
The Lady Rangers took control of the contest in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Mustangs 20-13, to take a 32-28 lead at the intermission.
Cassopolis increased its lead to nine points heading into the final eight minutes of play.
The Lady Rangers held a 22-17 scoring advantage in the third quarter and led 54-45 heading into the fourth.
Cassopolis continued to shoot the ball well and tossed in 21 points to pull away to the 10-point victory.
Michelle James led a balanced scoring attack with 22 points, three rebounds and five assists. Tiara Williams added 19 points, five reounds, three steals and four assists to the Lady Rangers' totals.
Dee Dee Hawkins finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and four points, while Tiffany Williams contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Valerie Schlutt's 20 points led River Valley. Heather Totzke finished with 19 points.
