Sale of 2.5 acres in Dowagiac industrial park by City Council Monday night to Lake Michigan Molding is expected to yield as many as 40 jobs within five years.
Jason S. Sysak agreed to pay $1,250 per acre for a $2,812 total purchase for the northern portion of Parcel C on Woodhouse Drive.
Lake Michigan Molding intends to construct a new building for a business which is currently home-based.
City Economic Development Director Sandra Gower said there will be three employees initially, "with the expectation that within five years there will be 30 to 40 employees."
Construction must begin within one year of the purchase or the city retains the right to buy back the parcel for its purchase price.
