Dowagiac falls to Lakeshore in Rocket Football

The Dowagiac Rocket Football League's Minor Division Team One dropped a 38-28 decision to visiting Lakehsore on Saturday at Hassle Field.
Dowagiac trailed 20-0 at one point, but rallied to close the gap before falling to the Lancers.
Dowagiac finished with 359 yards rushing and controlled the ball much of the contest.
Lakeshore's Coby Clark proved unstoppable, however, to the Dowagiac defense.
Trayshawn Fields ran for 196 yards on 13 carries for Dowagiac, which also got 75 yards on eight carries from Aaron Adams. Devin Chapman finished with 65 yards on eight carries.
Sean Yore finished with 20 yards and a touchdown on three totes.
Lakeshore outscored Dowagiac 20-0 in the first quarter. Dowagiac held a 28-18 scoring advantage over the final three quarters.
Defensively, Dowagiac was led by Andrew Wild with six stops. Adam and Derren Murry each had three tackles, while Austin Frechette, Phillip Kocsis, Roland Lucio and Zach Marquart all had two tackles.
Dowagiac travels to Stevensville to take on Lakeshore on Saturday.
