Dowagiac cross country team falls to Wildcats

The Dowagiac cross country teams were swept by host Three Rivers Tuesday afternoon in a Wolverine Conference meet.
Both Chieftain teams were swept by the Wildcats, 15-50.
Nate Martin was the top finisher in the boys' race for Three Rivers, as he posted a time of 17:30.
Kasey Proshwitz was the top finisher for the Chieftains as he placed 11th with a time of 19:48.
Evan Bressler was 18th with a clocking of 21:28, while Jason Fryman was 19th with a time of 21:53. Dowagiac also got a 26th place finish out of Brandson Wilson and a 27th place finish out of Josh Kopaceski.
Wilson and Kopaceski ran times of 26:06 and 30:15 respectively.
"Tough team. Tough course," Dowagiac coach Ken Jordan said. "Three Rivers' boys won the Wolverine last year and look tough again. We've gotten some tough teams out of the way early in our conference schedule."
Chloe Yarosz was the top Lady Wildcat finisher as she toured the course in 22:56.
Kayla Saviano finished eighth for the Chieftains with a time of 26:23. Chelsey Preston was 11th with a time of 27:40, while Stephanie Muha was 12th with a time of 27:42. Savannah Eby was 14th (31:42), Katie Hewitt 15th (33:53) and Ali Hess 16th (35:07).
