THREE RIVERS – In observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Cass County Task Force on Family Violence, the Domestic Assault Shelter Coalition, Cass County Prosecutor's Office and the Cass County Youth Committee will hold their annual Candlelight Vigil on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.
The observance will take place at the Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg.
Theme of this year's vigil is "Domestic Violence: A Crime Against The Community, This Community Says No!"
Domestic violence affects our community in many ways. An informed community can create an environment that will not tolerate domestic violence and will insist that perpetrators are held accountable.
This one-hour observance will include brief comments from guest speakers, prayers and songs and most importantly, a candle-lighting ceremony which includes reading names of victims who lost their lives as a result of domestic violence. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the Oct. 3, vigil and to learn more about this devastating crime affecting our communities' families.
