Dowagiac juniors Katy Stuppy and Jamie Simpson have been named the Daily News Athletes of the Week.
Stuppy scored 35 points as Dowagiac defeated Vicksburg in its Wolverine Confernece opener.
Simpson rushed for 188 yards and scored three touchdowns as Dowagiac defeated Vicksburg to improve to 3-0.
One of Simpson's touchdowns was a 92-yard kickoff return to start the second half.
Each week, the Daily News will select two Athletes of the Week.
The selections come from nominations from the Dowagiac Union High School coaching staff.
