Forecasters off to quick start

The Daily News Football Forecasters kicked off the 2006-07 season in grand style this past weekend.
Five forecasters posted records of 9-1, while another four panel members went 8-2.
Newcomer Allison Hayes led the pack of 9-1 forecasters. Joining her were Jim Snow, Mike Behnke, Sue Dobrich and Bryan Wild.
Coming in at 8-2 this past weekend were John Eby, Greg Younger, Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph and Scott Novak.
Frank Williams stands alone at 7-3, while Michael Guilmette Jr. and Tom Atkinson were both 6-4.
The Tennessee crushing of highly ranked California tripped up most of the forecasters on the opening weekend of college football.
A couple of forecasters had their shot at a perfect record dashed by Florida State's victory over Miami.
The games will get tougher from here on out.
There are several good games this weekend that could go either way, including Penn State at Notre Dame.
Our panel believes that the Irish will triumph over the Nittany Lions.
Other good match-ups include Ohio State at Texas, Georgia at South Carolina and Clemson at Boston College.
