Continuing with the introduction of teachers joining the Niles Community Schools staff, Sabrina Kramer and Sherry Lockwood are the next teachers to be featured.
Coming from Lansing, Kramer, 23, will be entering her first teaching position in Language Arts for eighth graders.
She graduated from Central Michigan University and experienced her student teaching at Grand River Elementary in Lansing.
Kramer is new to Niles and she said her first impression when she arrived was, "what a beautiful town and people are so friendly."
Her goals while living and "working in Niles are to be a great teacher and to get to know the community."
A Niles native, Lockwood, 52, will be teaching special education at Ring Lardner, also for the eighth grade.
Married for 33 years, her husband Jim and two daughters, prior to their marriage, have lived in Houston, Tex. and for 10 years in Granger, Ind., before moving to the Niles area.
Before her teaching assignment in Niles, she taught at PHM Schmucker Middle School for six years.
Lockwood obtained her degree from Indiana University-South Bend.
"When I first went into Niles, I felt that it was a quaint, close knit, family orientated community," she said.
Lockwood added, "My goals are to become a valuable member of the Niles community by working with our youth, particularly those with learning difficulties."
