The Dowagiac varsity golf team moved up two spots in the second Wolverine Conference Jamboree on Thursday at Prairiewood Golf Course.
The Chieftains finished fifth at the jamboree hosted by Otsego. Dowagiac finished with a team score of 166.
Plainwell won the jamboree with a team total of 153. South Haven and Gull Lake tied for second place; however, the Rams were awarded the place based on the fifth-man tiebreaker.
Otsego finished fourth with a team a score of 155. Rounding out the order of finish were Dowagiac, Vicksburg (167), Comstock (169), Allegan (172), Three Rivers (176) and Paw Paw (185).
South Haven moved into a tie for first in the conference standings with Gull Lake. Both teams have 18 points.
Plainwell is third with 16 points, while Otsego is fourth with 15 points. Vicksburg has 12 points and Dowagiac 10 points. Allegan (8), Comstock (7), Three Rivers (4) and Paw Paw (2) complete the scoring.
Gull Lake's Sean Ryan and Plainwell's Tom Olinger shared medalist honors on Thursday with identical rounds of 36.
Kevin Proshwitz's round of 38 led Dowagiac. Richie Hutchinson finished with a 39, while Nick Krizinski shot 44. Tanner Melvin finished with a 45. The Chieftains did not have a fifth man to score on Thursday because freshman Jacob Miller did not complete play.
The league returns to play on Monday as South Haven hosts the next jamboree, which will be played at Lake Michigan Hills beginning at 8 a.m.
