NILES – The Dowagiac All-Star team advanced in the Michigan District 15 tournament on Wednesday with a 7-2 victory over host Niles at Thomas Stadium.
Dowagiac scored two runs in the first and second innings, while scoring three runs in the third.
This was accomplished by singles from Tyler First, Cody Cox, Jason Fryman and Jake Kling.
Mike Kasper added a double to bring in two runs.
Niles scored one run each in the first and third innings.
Dustin Zimmerman and Nick Harman each hit a single, while Taylor Ort drove in a run with two singles and a double.
Troy Stover picked up the victory for Dowagiac. Jake Harris suffered the loss for Niles.
