Real Dowagiac advances

NILES – The Blossomland Soccer Tournament continued on Monday with top-seeded Real Dowagiac taking on Buchanan FC.
Real Dowagiac advanced to the semifinals on Thursday against Whirlpool United with a 3-1 victory over Buchanan.
Dowagiac will host Whirlpool United at 6:30 p.m. at Southwestern Michigan College.
In the other semifinal on Thursday, the second-seeded St. Joe Kickers will host P&R FC at the Kicker's Club in Arden. That match is also slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Ishmael Hernandez scored a pair of goals for Dowagiac, while the league's Golden Boot winner (most goals scored in the regular season), Alejandro Hernandez also scored.
Buchanan's lone goal came from Alex Gordon.
The Kickers advanced to the semifinals with a 3-0 win over the Tornados on Sunday. P&R reached the semifinals with a 2-1 win over the Dowagiac Dawgs on Sunday.
Whirlpool United made it to the semifinals with a 6-2 win over Diamonds United on Sunday.
The winners on Thursday will advance to the finals at the Kicker's Club on Sunday at 3 p.m. The losers on Thursday night will play in the consolation match for third place at 1 p.m.
