Dowagiac sweeps Paw Paw in softball

Dowagiac swept Paw Paw in Big League Softball play Tuesday night.
Dowagiac took the first game 6-5 in six innings, while it won the nightcap 5-0 in five innings.
Ashley Willis went the distance, allowing no unearned runs on four hits. Willis struck out seven and walked just one.
Dowagiac scored three in the first, two in the second and one in the sixth to account for its offense.
Paw Paw scored all five runs in the fourth inning.
Willis helped her own cause with a double, a single and two RBIs.
Calie Daniels, Maureen Pickar and Lynne Zachary all had two hits for Dowagiac. Amy Wood drove in two runs, while Katie Wood added an RBI.
In the second game, Pickar went the distance, allowing just one hit and no earned runs. Pickar struck out four and walked one.
Felicia Hood singled and drove in two runs, while Brittany Bruens, Daniels, Kim Luthringer and Willis all had a hit.
Pickar, Zachary, Katie Wood, Stephanie Grabemeyer and Bruens all scored a run. Grabemeyer also drove in a run with a bases loaded walk.
Dowagiac scored one in the first inning and four in the fourth to account for its runs.
