American Legion Post 206 splits

Dowagiac American Legion Post 206 split a doubleheader with visiting Edwardsburg Wednesday evening at Rotary park.
Post 206 took the first game 9-3, but dropped the nightcap, 6-4.
Jason Fryman picked up the victory in the opening game as he went the distance, allowing three runs on five hits with two strikeouts.
Top hitters for Post 206 were Mike Kasper, who was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Kyle Prak was 2-for-3 with a triple, while Tim DeRyder drove in a pair of runs with a single.
Tim Bartee and Jake Kling added singles.
In the second game, Edwardsburg scored six runs in the fifth inning to earn the victory.
The Legion grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning and upped its lead to 3-0 before Edwardsburg exploded in the top half of the sixth.
Post 206 finished with five hits, including a triple by Kyle Prak and a double by Keith Prak.
Troy Stover, Kling and Tyler First also had hits for the Legion.
Post 206 is back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rotary Park.
