No. 8 Portage Northern sweeps Lady Cats

NILES - Portage Northern and Brandywine met on the softball field Wednesday evening for a non-conference double header.
The Huskies, who are ranked No. 8 in the recent Division 1 coaches polls, sent Brandywine (No. 4 in Division III) home with 10-0 and 6-1 losses, bringing the Bobcats' overall record to 26-10.
Brandywine's Kristina Ford was the lone top hitter for Brandywine in both games, getting and double, single and a RBI in the nightcap.
Kelli Zache suffered the pitching loss in the first game, while Ford fell in the second. Zache had four strikeouts on the day, while Ford had two.
The Lady Cats are hosting the Bobcat tournament this Saturday. Game times are set to begin at 10 a.m.
