Buchanan baseball team takes two close wins

NILES - In two very close non-conference games, the Buchanan varsity baseball team was able to come out victorious over Michigan Lutheran Monday.
The Bucks grabbed a 5-4 win in the first game and a 7-6 win in the second, improving thier record to 10-17 overall.
In game one, Tyler Knisley took the win at the mound for the Bucks, while Travis Reith provided the save. Ryan Rush suffered the loss for Michigan Lutheran.
Top hitters were Zack Powers and Evan Cauffman, who both had one single and one RBI.
Max Bennet was the lone top hitter for Lutheran with a single and a RBI.
In the nightcap, Reith took the win on the mound for Buchanan, while Perry Wahlstrom and Brenson Stroman also pitched. Brad Briney suffered the loss.
Top hitters were Aaron Koziel with a double, Jon Mondschein had a triple, Cauffman had a single and a RBI and Powers and Stroman each had two singles.
The Bucks will face New Buffalo on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
