Brandywine goes 2-1 at Clinton Invitational to finish second

NILES - The Brandywine varsity softball team went 2-1 at the Clinton Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Bobcats (26-7) defeated host Clinton 3-2 and Lansing Catholic Central 10-4. Brandywine was defeated by Monroe Jefferson, 6-1.
In the first game, the Lady Bobcats had just two hits.
Zache allowed just one earned run and struck out eight.
Against Clinton, Brandywine finished with five hits, led by Zache with a pair of singles and a RBI. Lauren Kachur doubled and drove in two runs.
Zache tossed a two-hitter with four strikeouts.
In the final game against Lansing Catholic Central, Brandywine's bats came alive.
The Lady Bobcats had 15 hits, including a single, a home run and three RBIs from Zache.
Brandywine also had a single and a double from Kelli Zache and Angela Newman. Newman drove in two runs, while Kelli Zache had a RBI.
