Brandywine soccer team tops Eddies

NILES - The Brandywine soccer team got a solid performance from its seniors on Thursday evening as it defeated Edwardsburg 4-1 in a Lakeland Conference match.
The Lady Bobcats grabbed a 1-0 first half lead when Jill Sinkoff scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Kali Newman.
The match remained 1-0 through the remainder of the first half.
Business picked up in the second 40 minutes as Brandywine scored three goals to make it a 4-0 contest.
Jill Sinkoff picked up her second goal of the night, this one unassisted, in the 53rd minute.
Erin Sinkoff scored back-to-back goals in the 59th and 60th minutes to complete the scoring for Brandywine. Julie Barnett got the assist on the first goal and Newman the assist on the second goal.
Edwardsburg averted the shutout in the 80th minute as Jessica Stevenson found the back of the net.
Brandywine outshot Edwardsburg 14-10.
Bethany Daniels had six saves for the Lady Bobcats, while Katie Smallwood had three saves.
Edwardsburg's Laura Donath had eight saves.
