Death of woman ruled from horses

ST. JOSEPH - The death this weekend of a Niles woman has been reported to have come from being kicked by a horse or horses.
On Saturday, May 13, at approximately 8:39 p.m., the Berrien County Sheriff's Office responded to 2040 W. Bertrand Road in Bertrand Township regarding a female being kicked by a horse, according to the sheriff's report.
When sheriff deputies arrived, they found Paula Tiffany, 67, of 3150 Portage Road, Niles, laying on the ground, inside a horse pasture where there were two Belgian horses.
The Berrien County Medical Examiner pronounced her dead at this location, according to the sheriff's report.
Tiffany's injuries were consistent by being kicked from a horse, they said.
