Lady Vikes compete in James T. Long Invite Saturday

NILES - The Niles varsity track and field team competed in the James T. Long Invitational on Saturday.
Taking first place in the shot put relay, were Vikings Ashley Austin and Kyla Kirkendoll, who had a combined distance of 65-feet-5 1/2.
Niles also took first in the long jump relay, where Kaylynn Stephenson and Tasha Webster had a combined distance of 31-feet-7 1/2 inches.
Taking third place in the high jump relay were Alex Ranft and Heather Ellis with a combined distance of 8-feet-10.
In the pole vault relay, Nicole Horvath took third place with a height of 7-feet-6.
In the discus relay, Austin and Brittney Wolverton had a combined distance of 90-feet-9 to finish fourth.
The 3200 relay team of Sam Brawley, Autumn Grayson, Becky Kirshbaum and Horvath finished fourth with a time of 10:56.
The sprint relay team of Stephenson, Webster, Grayson and Charlen Griffen finished fifth with a time of 2:00.
Grayson, Webster, Jamecia Moffit and Stephenson took fifth in the 800 relay with a time of 1:57.
In the coed shuffle hurdles, Stephanie Watson, Sam Schaller, Chris Thompson and Blaze Nsengiyumva finished fifth place with a time of 1:12 and the 1600 meter relay team of Watson, Brawley, Liz Durm and Kirshbaum took fifth with a time of 4:59.
