Buchanan still No. 1 in LAC

NILES - A doubleheader win over Edwardsburg Friday evening kept the Buchanan varsity softball team in the No. 1 spot in the Lakeland Conference.
The Bucks took a 4-0 win in the first game and a 3-1 win in the nightcap, bringing their record to 15-6 overall, 9-1 in the conference.
In the first game, Ashley Pointer took the win in the circle, while Lorin Thompson suffered the loss.
Pointer had five strikeouts and allowed three hits, while Thompson had eight strikeouts for the Eddies.
At the plate, Kayla Nelson had a double and a single, Maggie Ernsberger had a home run and Emily Ross had two singles.
In the second game, Pointer again took the win for the Bucks, bringing her season record to 12-4.
Jayme O'Bryant and Ernsberger each had a double for the Bucks, hile Jeni Bollenbacher and Lindsay Moeller each had hits for the Eddies.
Buchanan is back in action on Tuesday against Berrien Springs.
