NILES - Niles varsity tennis coach Rob Babler was a little concerned heading into Thursday's tennis against Berrien Springs.
The Vikings had a late match against Battle Creek Harper Creek the day before and returned home fairly late.
Babler wasn't even sure if he was going to be able to see his team compete. He had to travel with the junior varsity team to Berrien Springs because coach Greg Gunder was unable to attend the match. Niles girls tennis coach Jill Weber filled in for Babler while he was on the road.
Niles' only two losses came at No. 1 and 2 singles, where Colin Smith and Dan Rodts were defeated by David Moskala and James Yoon.
Winning at No. 3 and 4 singles were Nate Fink and Julian Freas.
Doubles players Levi Grroms and Jon Poole, Mark Neeser and Scott Bailey, Dan Ott and Jonathan Smith and Jordan Parks and Zak Herrmann all took wins for the Vikings
