John Wesley Strayer, M.D. 91, of Missions East, in Niles died at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at Buchanan Meadows Living Center in Buchanan, following an extended illness.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Niles, with the Reverend Franklin P. Schuster III, of the church, officiating.
Committal services will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan and will conclude with the Veterans's Flag Presentation and “Taps” by the American Legion Post No. 51, Buchanan.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Pipe Organ Fund of Trinity Episcopal Church or to The Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan.
