Brandywine baseball team falls on the road

NILES - Brandywine's varsity baseball team fell in a very close game to Climax-Scotts Thursday evening.
The Bobcats, now 8-8 overall, were tied at eight heading into the sixth inning. Climax-Scotts was able to score two runs, which posted the 10-8 victory.
Earlier in the game, Climax-Scotts had a small 2-0 lead after the first inning, but four runs from the Bobcats in the third put them in the lead 4-2.
Another three runs in the top of the fourth gave Brandywine a comfortable 7-2 lead, but five runs from Climax-Scotts tied the game at seven in the fifth.
One run by each team in the seventh posted the 8-8 tie, and Climax-Scotts went on to win.
Trvais Duncan suffered the loss on the mound. DJ Elrod also pitched for Brandywine.
Noah Udell, Matt Wieger, Cameron Ondresky and Caleb Frazier all had two hits each for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats return to their home field on Saturday when they host Lake Michigan Catholic. Game time is set to begin at 10 a.m.
