Niles boys track team victorious over Lakeshore

NILES - The Niles varsity track teams hosted Lakeshore Wednesday for a Big 16 West Division meet.
By the end of the day, the Vikings boys team posted a 106-57 victory over the Lancers, while the girls team fell to Lakeshore 94-68.
In the boys events, first place winners were Blaise Nsengiyumva, who had a time of 18.14 in the 110-hurdles. Isaiah Glaze had a time of 10.95 in the 100-meter dash and a time of 22.75 in the 200-meter dash and Nick Schuck finished the 1600 run with a time of 4:55. In the 400-meter dash, CJ Rumpf had a time of 51.17 and Ricky Phillips Jr. had a time of 43.52 in the 300 hurdles. Andrew Wuthnow had a time of 2:07 in the 800 run and Stephen Scally had a time of 10:56 in the 3200 run.
Murphy had a jump of 18-feet-8 in the long jump and Kurt Poehlman had a 6-foot-2 leap in the high jump.
The 3200 relay team had a time of 9:00, the 800 relay team finished with a time of 1:33 and the 1600 relay team had a time of 3:40.
Girls event winners were Ashley Austin, who had a 35-feet-1 throw in the shot-put and a 101-foot throw in the discus.
Nikki Horvath finished the 100-hurdles with a time of 17.47. Kaylynn Stephenson had a time of 13.35 in the 100-dash and a time of 27.35 in the 200-meter dash, while Sam Brawley finished the 1600 run with a time of 5:40.
The track teams are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Benton Harbor for another West Division meet.
