Brandywine track teams face Bridgman, Berrien for LAC meets Monday

NILES - The Brandywine boys and girls track teams met with Berrien Springs and Bridgman for a Lakeland Conference meet on Monday evening.
The boys team took a 107-20 win over Bridgman, but fell to Berrien Springs 89-39.
Against Bridgman, the Bobcats got first place finishes from Ryan Hartman, who had a 44-feet-10 inch throwing in the shot put and a 118-foot-3 inch throw in the discus.
Bryton Hutchings had a 17-foot-4 inch leap in the long jump and Doug Rockett had a 5-foot-2 inch jump in the high jump.
The 3200 relay team of Brian Wieger, Ricky Wood, Curtis Wilson and Chase Molica finished with a time of 9:12.
Adam Bruni had a time of 21.00 in the high hurdles and JD Miller finished with a time of 11.93 in the 100 meter dash. Brian Wieger had a time of 5:06 in the 1600 meter run and a time of 11:29 in the 3200 meter run. Justin Price finished with a time of 54.79 in the 400 meter and Matt Duckett took first in the 300 low hurdle.
The 800 relay team of Price, Miller, Benjamin and Gilpin finsihed with a time of 1:39 and the 400 relay team of McMillen, Carlson, Jones and Welsher finsihed with a time of 47.27.
The 1600 relay team of Brenner, Taliaferro, Wood and Price finished with a time of 3:56
Against Berrien Springs, Hartman took first in the discus with a toss of 118-feet-3 inch and Bruni had a time of 21.00 in the high hurdles.
The Brandywine girls track team fell to Bridgman 78-36 and fell to Berrien Springs 120-8.
Taking second place against the Shamrocks were Alicia Garcia in the high hurdle and Ashley Harrell in the 3200 meter run.
Third place went to Harrell in the 1600 meter run and Michelle Smith in the 200 meter.
Against Bridgman, Garcia took first place in the 400 meter with a time of 1:18 and Harrell took first in the 3200 meter with a time of 14:17. The 1600 meter relay team of Smith, Sarah Devos, Kyla Molica and Harrell took first with a time of 5:18.
Taking second place were Molica in the long jump and the 400 meter, Smith in the 100 meter and the 200 meter and Harrell in the 1600 meter and the 800 meter relay team of Harrell, Devos, Garica and Smith. The Bobcats will travel to Coloma on Monday for another Lakeland Conference meet set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
